Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A member of the elite Triple Gold Club, Brendan Shanahan is the only player in NHL history to register 600 career goals and 2,000 penalty minutes. The Etobicoke native has also appeared in eight All-Star contests. From the Stanley Cup-championship season of 1997-98, we have a photo-matched Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by the HOF inductee. Center Ice and Nike size “56” labels are affixed to the collar (along with a Hockeytown hologram), with embroidered Nike and NHL crests on the bottom hem. Styled with the famous winged-wheel team crest, the red V-neck has been accented with white single twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the “Believe VK & SM” patch to honor Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov over the right breast. The team patch resides over the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “1st Set” example.
Exhibiting heavy use, a ton of dark marks cover the lower front, with additional marks over each sleeve. A single team repair is also present, situated over the lower left sleeve.
