Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
His first of seven seasons in the WHA with Quebec after lengthy NHL success with the Montreal Canadiens, J.C. Tremblay would complete the 1972-73 campaign with 89 points in 75 games played. Originally obtained from his family when his collection was offered, and rarely seen at auction, we have the Dennis A. Murphy Award that was presented to Tremblay as the WHA’s premier defenceman in 1972-73. At just over 17” in height, a molded bronze hockey glove sits mounted atop a two-tiered, 5 ¾” x 5 ¾” x 6 ½” black wooden base, with felt underside. When first obtained from the family, the trophy was missing the plaque, with a 4” x 4” replica made and included (loose), with all the particulars engraved including, “J.C. Tremblay” and “Best Defenceman 1972-73”.
