Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Four of the most recognizable masks ever worn by NHL goaltenders, we have a wonderful collection of replicas, with examples for Ken Dryden (2), Jacques Plante and Johnny Bower. The Dryden “bullseye” mask and Bower mask have both been signed over the front in blue marker, with the signatures displaying well. We should also note that the Drydens and Plante mask were made by Don Scott, with the preeminent maker signing the interior of each Dryden mask, along with adding “2010”. Each mask sports strapping, with each distressed to purport age. Some of the most iconic designs in the history of the game, each mask is ready for prominent display.
We should note that the Dryden masks were made by Scott for Ken’s jersey retirement night celebration in 2007 at the behest of the Montreal Canadiens, with 29 masks of each style ordered to be sold at the game, with Scott getting three masks signed for himself in the deal including the offered example.
