Drafted 44th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, netminder Mathieu Garon spent time with six different NHL clubs during his career which included winning a Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009. We have a photo-matched blocker and glove combo used by the Chandler native in 2005-06, his first of two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings. Reebok Premier Series models in Kings colours, “Garon” is embroidered over each, with cloth labels present from maker Lefevre. Both items show heavy use, with some rubbing and surface wear to the glove in spots, with a few bits of tape added to the pocket lacing. The blocker exhibits marks and scuffs, with heavy wear to the palm which includes a hole through the first layer of reinforced leather. Getty Images #56500050 (Dec 6, 2005) and #121067237 (Jan 14, 2006) have both been matched to a number of marks on the front of the blocker, while Getty Image #56560132 from Dec 10, 2005, has been matched to a number of marks on the front of the blocker, and to the marks on the interior cuff on the larger grey stripe.
