Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

Only the second player in history to notch 1,000 career points, Jean Beliveau spent almost two decades in a Habs sweater, with his performance in the 1965 Stanley Cup playoffs honoured as the first to receive the Conn Smythe Trophy. Hailing from the mid-to-late-1960s, circa 1967-68, a season that witnessed Beliveau score his 400th career goal while leading the Canadiens to yet another championship, we have a signed stick used by the legend. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, “Beliveau” and “4” appear stamped over the upper shaft, with a stamp from supplier McNiece’s over the top of the shaft. The original black tape is intact over the blade, along with the white-over-black tape on the handle. Beliveau has signed midway down the shaft in thick marker, and the signature displays beautifully.
The stick shows heavy game use, with numerous puck and stick marks covering both sides of the blade and heel sections, with a few cracks to the blade. There is also additional wear to the shaft, with a few small spots of red paint transfer.
