Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
An eight-time Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy-winner with eight-50 goal seasons to his credit, Alexander Ovechkin would score 52 goals during his inaugural NHL season in 2005-06, with this rewarded with the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s premier rookie. From his first NHL season in 2005-06, we have a signed stick used by the Russian superstar. A CCM Vector model with “A. Ovechkin” over the upper shaft (heavily faded and barely readable), the composite stick retain’s the original black tape over the blade and white over the handle, with a factory code visible on the lower underside of the shaft. Ovi has signed the front side of the blade near the heel section in black marker, with an "Ovechkin 8" hologram placed over the lower shaft. Nice game use is exhibited, with wear to the underside of the blade along with a few abrasions over the heel section and lower shaft.
