Splendid opportunity here to secure ten complete O-Pee-Chee sets, very well presented in pages/binders, with overall condition pleasing indeed. The Gretzky and Lemieux rookie card years are not present, with the RCs of numerous other stars and Hall of Famers contributing to the allure. After the 1978-79 and ’80-81 ensembles, NM-MT-and-better cards dominate, with the ’81-82 assembly grabbing one’s attention. Sure, there are some EX-MT and NM cards throughout and we cannot pull/examine each card, but random/star pulls barely wielded a crease. Of course, centering is not always perfect and there are condition exceptions, with important ones, along with images of each set’s key cards available on our website. Talk about an instant 1980s collection or awesome inventory. Bossy, Messier, Bourque, Yzerman, Roy, Coffey, Hull and more – what a star-studded RC lineup!
Some light corner wear is visible in the ’78-79 set, with the key Mike Bossy RC featuring stains in the lower left and right corners, otherwise it’s EX+. EX, EX+ and EX-MT examples look to be the most plentiful grades observed. Intermittent corners touches are to report in the batch of ’80-81s, with centering issues affecting Messier (o/w EX) and Bourque (VG-EX) rookies. As alluded to above the, ’81-82s are impressive, with smooth edges the norm. The ’84-85 set is a little off, with intermittent corner touches and creases affecting Gilmour and Chelios RCs. Dinged corners on the Hawerchuk RC (VG), but other than those, the key RCs look to be NM-or-better, with centering at times coming into play. All checklists and team checklists are unmarked throughout. There are NM-MT+ and MINT cards to be discovered, providing grading possibilities galore, if you enjoy slabbing/parlaying. Good luck with this interesting offering.
