A goalie lover's delight is this intriguing years-in-the-making assembly, with our discerning consignor acquiring cards, for the most part, in pleasing crease-free EX-or-better condition. Topps rookie card highlights include Cheevers (EX), Simmons, McCartan, Gamble, DeJordy, Johnston, Villemure and Parent (EX+). Early Parkhurst entries (1951-52 #19-Henry (F), 104-Rayner (G)) are among the condition exceptions, with both '63-64 Maniago RCs present; #40 is EX-MT and #99 is EX. O-Pee-Chee RC notables include Billy Smith, Fuhr (2) and Lindbergh. An Ed Chadwick pre-rookie, ('52-53 Juniors Blue Tint #157 (EX)) is a card that seldom surfaces, while other non-rookies feature the likes of Sugar Jim (3), Lumley, Rayner, McNeil, Rollins (2), Simmons (5), DeJordy (2), Giacomin (2), Cheevers (4), Parent (2) and Dryden (2). Please visit our website for more photos and details of this admirable group of courageous men!
Rookie cards not previously mentioned are Topps issues of Perreault, Beaupre and Ranford, OPCs of Richard Brodeur, Barrasso and Hextall, and a Parkhurst of Bassen. Second-year Parkies of Lumley (VG-EX), Henry (VG-EX (ST)), Rayner (F) and McNeil (F) lead chronologically among other non-rookies. There are two each of '54-55 Topps cards of 26-Rollins (EX+, VG+) and Henry (EX+, VG-EX), while two different '63-64 Parkhurst Simmons are joined by three consecutive Topps issues commencing '58-59. Cheevers is pictured twice as a Bruin on #1 cards ('68-69 is NM-MT, '70-71 is EX-MT) and twice with the WHA Cleveland Crusaders, while Dryden shows up on a '72-73 Topps card (EX), as well as an OPC Team Canada insert from the same season, the latter with however factory "tick" marks. All sorts of possibilities with this varied stash, with several NM-or-better cards to discover.
