Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Led by Andy Bathgate’s 82 points, the New York Rangers finished in fourth at the conclusion of the 1961-62 NHL season, with Gump Worsley securing 22 wins. We have an MSG program for a Feb 28th match against the Bruins in 1962, and it’s been signed by 8 Blueshirts including 4 Hall of Fame members, with 3 deceased. At 8 ½” x 11” and with a cover image of Bruins netminder Don Head stopping a shot from Andy Bathgate, all 8 have signed in matching blue ink on two different pages, with Doug Harvey, Jean Ratelle and Dave Balon signing one, and Jim Neilson, Gump Worsley, Dean Prentice, Andy Bathgate and Don Johns signing the other. The signatures all display well, with Worsley adding a personalization, with the program itself complete, exhibiting moderate handling wear including a few ink marks on the line-up page.
