Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Taking place at Ivor Wynne Stadium in front of over 33,000 excited fans, the 1972 Grey Cup game was the 60th in the prestigious trophy’s history, with the hometown Hamilton Tiger-Cats taking out their western rival Saskatchewan Roughriders, 13-10. The first Grey Cup game ever played on AstroTurf, the black and gold would claim their 6th championship in franchise history, with Ticats quarterback Chuck Ealey taking home MVP honours. We have a large and attractive framed poster from the event. At 18” x 47” (exposed) and featuring logos from each CFL franchise, a patch and coin from the contest has been inserted below, with the poster double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 26” x 61 ½”. Exhibiting some creasing along the top section, the poster displays beautifully.
