Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Existing for just three short seasons in the late-1920s/early-1930s, the Seattle Eskimos were one of four teams that competed throughout the complete existence of the PCHL. We have an attractive greeting card featuring a colourized team photo of the 1929-30 Eskimos. Led by Lloyd Turner, the team is lined-up on-ice in its red, green and white striped uniforms. Included are goaltender Hal Winkler and Hall-of-Famer Jack Walker, along with Max Sutherland, Cecil Browne, Smoky Harris, Dan Daly, Ollie Reinikka, Art Townsend, Bobby Benson, Ernie Anderson and Tony Savage. On thin cardboard stock and measuring 7" x 4", the front has a simple "Greetings", while Lloyd Turner’s name is printed on the inside, to the left of the team photo. Heavy wear is present, with staining over both the front and reverse, along with creases and corner wear. As our online imagery will attest, the team photo remains largely unaffected despite the card’s overall low grade, with just some minor staining visible at the base of the image.
