Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A trio of vintage display pieces ready for your trophy shelf, we have a 1962 San Francisco Giants Green Base bobblehead doll, a 1960s Frankfort Distillers "Antique" boxer bottle display and early-1970s CFL ceramic coin bank. The bobble head is the somewhat harder to locate “sideways-hat” variation, with a “Japan” decal over the underside along with the patent number stamped, as well as “Japan” and “1962”. Displaying beautifully with absolutely no chips or cracks to the delicate head, the high-grade beauty just shows a little wear to the decal – common for Green Base examples – with the head sitting slightly askew. The ceramic Frankfort Distillers "Antique” boxer is 10” in height and resembles John Sullivan, with bright paint and just a few blemishes to the base near his left foot. Detached from the original ceramic base designed to advertise an alcohol bottle, the base shows no issues, with a “Japan” sticker on the underside along with a “Frankfort Distillers Company Chicago, Illinois” decal. Lastly, the seldom-seen ceramic CFL bank is 6” in height, with a rubber stopper and metal face guard. Utilizing decals for the eyes, each is slightly loose, with just a scratch over his right arm to report.
