Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A large grouping of vintage lumber and an instant collection, we have eighteen hockey sticks spanning from the 1920s to 1970s, with four one-piece models, a pair of early paper label two-piece models from the late-1920s/early-1930s and game-used examples from netminders Bernie Parent (signed) and Richard Sevigny. We have a Ward’s one-piece model from the 1920s with paper label and “Official” stamped on the shaft, with the stick showing light to moderate use, most of the label is intact and the blade somewhat warped. This is followed by a pair of well-used youth model two-piece sticks with paper labels from the late-1920s/early-1930s, with one having “High-Grade” visible on the partially-remaining label, along with a taped and cracked blade, while the second has “Hand Made” visible over the bit of remaining label, with the blade uncracked. Next, we have a small one-piece generic stick – possibly homemade from the circa-1910s/20s, a youth-size one-piece stick with large knot over the top of the heel, with “Ace” over the lower shaft and part of a shellacked “Wright & Ditson” paper label, a one-piece Hespeler Green Flash model from circa-1930 with a cracked and taped blade and silver foil branding, with this stick cut-down for a child. The later sticks include a Wright & Ditson “Autograph” model from the 1930s with taped and cracked blade, a pair of 1940s sticks including a Spalding and one with remnants of a decal over the lower shaft, and Hespeler (2 including one new old stock), CCM Professional, Victoriaville and Truline sticks from the 1950s/60s. Rounding out the lot, we have a never used Viceroy stick from circa-1970, a mid-1970s Bernie Parent game-used Sher-Wood example with broken-off blade - signed over the upper shaft, a 1970s Ken Dryden Sher-Wood store model with heavy wear/use and a mid-1980s Richard Sevigny Vic model game-used stick with cracked blade – possibly used during his time with the AHL’s Fredericton Express.
