Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
After 21 seasons of dedicated service to the city of Boston and their beloved Bruins, Ray Bourque ventured westward in 1999-00, bringing his paramount talent to Denver and the fans of Colorado. From his penultimate season, we have an Avalanche jersey worn by the superstar in 1999-00. A Pro Player label and “58” size tag are affixed to the collar, with NHL and Pro Player crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a textured Aves team crest with embroidered detailing, “77” appears over the sleeves and verso, with matching alternate Bigfoot crests over each shoulder along with the NHL 2000 crest over the right breast. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany this desirable jersey. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
Game wear consists of single board burns with resulting holes over each sleeve, with a few very small stains on the team crest. We should also note that it is generally known that Bourque wore multiple jerseys within any given game or set, and that he has been known to gift game jerseys to people, including staff, with this particular jersey kept by the HOF superstar for his private collection.
