Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Leading all defencemen in scoring at the 1998 Winter Olympics with a goal and two assists, Ray Bourque brought his immeasurable talent to the international stage on several occasions, making appearances for Team Canada at three Canada Cup tournaments along with Rendez-vous '87. Hailing from his personal collection, we have a Team Canada jersey attributed to use during practices at the 1987 Canada Cup, an Inuit soapstone carving (most likely from the 1984 or 1987 Canada Cup), 1987 Canada Cup Team Canada official team photo and a Ray Bourque ceramic Team Canada player. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
The jersey has a Maska label and measures-out to roughly a size 56, with the Team Canada crest rubberized. The 1987 team photo is matted to full dimensions of 21” x 24 ½”, with the players listed beneath the image. The matte is slightly warped, with moderate wear to the photo itself including a bit of staining. The Inuit carving feature’s a pair of igloos and is especially heavy, with a small plaque affixed with “Coupe Canada Cup” engraved. With just light wear present, the carving remains in wonderful condition. Lastly, the ceramic Bourque player is 10 ½” in height, with a Team Canada jersey and “Bourque” across the upper reverse. There is light wear present, with a chip to the hockey stick.
