Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

Considered by many to be the greatest goaltender in the history of the game, Terry Sawchuk is the all-time wins leader for Original Six goaltenders, with his 103 career shutouts surpassed by just a single player since his death almost half a century ago. We have a small collection of Sawchuk items totaling four, with each a desirable specimen. First, we have a 1961-62 York Peanut Butter glass in gorgeous condition, with just a very small and minor chip along the inside rim. This is followed by a mid-1960s Toronto Maple Leafs mini-stick (19”), with a small 1” x 1 ½” black and white photo of the legendary HOFer stapled to the blade, with the striping accents intact and just light wear present. The third item is a rarely seen circa-1960 “Hockey Record Stars” record and sleeve, with this a recorded Sawchuk interview with Danny Gallivan (moderate wear to the 45 and sleeve), while the fourth is a 1948-49 Indianapolis Capitals program with Sawchuk listed in the line-up (light to moderate wear including tape over the spine).
We should note that “Terry Sawchuk” is handwritten on the cover of the program, with this penned by an unknown hand and not a signature from the superstar.
