Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
From a season that saw the superstar register better than a-point-a-game – absolutely remarkable for a defenceman - we have an Elizabeth DuFresne Trophy that was presented to Ray Bourque for his performance at home games during the 1995-96 season. At approx 19” in height and featuring a generic mounted player serving as finial over an approx 10” wide domed silver bowl, the bowl is mounted to a finished wooden base, with the wider bottom tier approx 9” x 9”. A plaque with the particulars engraved has been affixed to the front of the base, including “Boston Bruins”, “Elizabeth DuFresne Trophy” and “Ray Bourque – 1995-96”. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany this attractive award. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
The trophy displays beautifully, with moderate to heavier surface wear over the silver components including the bowl, with the top mounted player’s hockey stick bent. There is also some additional wear to the wooden base.
