Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Seeing action in 7 of the 8 games played, we have a stick used by Pete Mahovlich at the epic Summit Series in 1972, with this desirable example team-signed by members of Team Canada. A Sher-Wood model, “Pete Mahovlich” appears stamped over the upper shaft, with a July 1972 date code on the lower shaft. The original black tape is in place over the blade and white over the handle, with nice use exhibited, with wear to the taped section of blade along with a few dark marks. One side of the shaft has been shaved down to accommodate the approx 17 black marker signatures which include Mahovlich, along with Mikita, Park, Henderson, Gilbert, Clarke and others. Some of the signatures have been heavily smudged, with most displaying nicely.
The additional signers include Awrey, Berenson, Bergman, Cashman, Ellis, Guevremont, Hadfield and a few others.
