With games held across the country including Winnipeg, Montreal, Edmonton and Ottawa, the 1981 Canada Cup was the second best-on-best tournament featuring the greatest hockey nations, with the single-game final won by a powerful Soviet squad. From his personal collection, we have the ring that was presented to iconic blueliner Ray Bourque for his participation with Team Canada. Size 11 with an approx weight of 17 grams, a Team Canada half maple leaf sits raised on the tableau, encompassed by “Coupe Canada Cup” in raised letters, with four small diamonds inserted beneath. “19” appears on one shank in raised numerals, with “81” in matching font gracing the other. Stamped "10K" on the inner band along with a hallmark, two small lines are also visible along the band, suggesting the ring was most likely resized. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
Exhibiting moderate to heavier wear from use, numerous scratches and small dings cover the band and shanks, with a dark blemish between the “A” and “N” of “Canada” over the tableau.
