Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The first team in NHL history to win three consecutive Stanley Cup championships, the Toronto Maple Leafs finished in fourth spot at the conclusion of the 1948-49 season, and despite facing first-place Detroit in the finals, the Leafs were able to take home Lord Stanley’s grail for the third time in three seasons. We have a framed display featuring a team-signed page from the 1949 champion Leafs, including the highly desirable signature of Bill Barilko. At approx 5” x 5 ¾” (exposed), the green album page feature’s 18 signatures in black ink, with a team photo placed above and plaque beneath. Signers include deceased HOF members Turk Broda, Harry Watson, Max Bentley and Teeder Kennedy, along with the aforementioned Barilko and others. Framed to full dimensions of approx 14” x 19”, the signatures display beautifully, with this piece ready to be mounted and enjoyed.
The additional signers include Gardner, Ezinicki, Klukay (signed twice), Thomson, Timgren, Mortson, Meeker, Boesch, Juzda, Mackell, Dawes, Smith and one other. There is some toning to the album sheet, with one of the Klukay signatures slightly smudged.
