Featuring a trio of the most desirable pucks that saw use in the NHL, we have a pair of Art Ross game pucks, along with a Spalding example. First, this particular Spalding model puck was used in the major league from approx 1931 to 1942, with matching Spalding NHL crests over each side. The second puck was enlisted by the NHL from 1942 to 1950, with this the first Art Ross CCM Tyer pucks used by the league, with an orange rubberized logo on one side, along with a patterned edge. The final puck was used in the NHL from approx 1950 to 1958, with the same logo as the 1942-50 pucks, with an extra orange border added to the logo. These three specimens represent some of the earliest documented pucks used by the NHL.
The Spalding puck shows just a small blemish to one logo and light wear to the puck itself including scratches, minor edge chips and a small amount of excess rubber. There is a bit of wear to the logo on the 1942-50 Art Ross puck, with a small edge chip present along with a few marks along the edge. The 1950-58 puck remains in gorgeous condition, with just some fading to the text on one of the logos.
