Their fourth Stanley Cup championship in eight seasons, the original Ottawa Senators raised Lord Stanley’s coveted grail for the final time in the spring of 1927, with the club memorable for the plethora of legendary Hall of Fame talent it possessed. We have a highly desirable banquet menu for the Senators 1927 championship, with this specimen augmented with 14 signatures from team members including 7 deceased Hall of Fame inductees. At 6 ½” x 9”, the 8-page program with tie string feature’s a team photo, dinner menu and list of toasts including the presentation of the Stanley Cup, with all 14 signing the back cover including King Clancy, Cy Denneny, Hooley Smith, Frank Nighbor, Alex Connell, Jack Adams, George Boucher and others. Originally presented to Ottawa politician Arthur Ellis, this historic menu is worthy of considerable contemplation. Comes with a JSA LOA.
The remaining signers include Hec Kilrea, Frank Finnigan, Alex Smith, Milt Halliday, Edwin Gorman, D.N. Gill (manager) and Ed Gleeson (trainer). Placed in a vertical column, the majority of the signatures are in pencil and display especially well with no issues (including each HOF member), with the original recipient Arthur Ellis listed above the signatures. The program itself shows moderate wear, with a few creases and minor edge/spine tears, along with toning and a few stains over the back cover.
