Recognized as one of the loudest building in the NHL, Chicago Stadium opened its doors for the Chicago Black Hawks during just their fourth season in 1929-30, closing some 65 years later and meeting the wrecking ball, in 1995. We have a collection of 40 vintage Chicago Stadium Black Hawks ticket stubs, with 3 from the 1950s and 37 from the 1960s. Highlighted by 4 stubs from games that witnessed Glenn Hall shutouts, there is also a stub for a Johnny Bower shutout, one for Paul Henderson’s first NHL goal (Jan 29/64 Chi 2 – Det 2), Bobby Hull’s 300th career goal (Jan 16/66 Chi 5 – NYR 6) and one from the deciding Game 6 of the semifinals during the 1959 playoffs (Apr 4/59 Chi 4 – Mtl 5). The majority of the stubs are in the 1 ½” x 2” range give or take, with most exhibiting just expected handling wear along with a rough-torn edge.
