Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

"Shocking" is the best word to describe the original gloss, unlike we ever recall seeing on 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee cards, that these crisp, clean, thin, like-issued examples display. With that said, there oftentimes seems to be something with OPC cards and in this assembly, it is the rough cuts of the bottom edges of approximately three-quarters of the lineup. Not jagged edges, but with paper/cardboard "flakes" at times observed. The (perfectly centered(!)) Dryden rookie is affected as is 100-Orr (both otherwise NM-MT), along with the famous #111-Checklist (o/w NM). The Lafleur RC is not and appears NM-MT, while the Dionne RC and the first and last six cards (Beliveau, Howe specials, Hull All-Star, 264-Checklist) exhibit rubber band indentations. The odd intermittent touched corner is spotted but overall, these are impressive, with the three other edges of rough cut-affected cards smooth, smooth. We're not sure how pro graders would see the bottom edges but submission possibilities, including MINT cards, are definitely present.
