Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Playing his entire career in the KHL, Mikhail Biryukov most recently appeared for HC Vityaz. The netminder also represented Russia internationally at the World Championships in 2007 and 2012. We have a Team Russia jersey worn by Biryukov at the 2012 World Championships, where the Russians won gold. A Nike logo along with “58” sizing sits screened-onto the inside collar above an IIHF label, with an additional IIHF crest over the reverse bottom hem. Featuring a textured and embroidered Russian team crest with “Russia” beneath in Cyrillic, the synthetic polyester jersey has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching sponsorship patches over each upper sleeve. A Nike inventory bar code numbered “77910” also sits inverted over the inside hem. Exhibiting just a few minor scuff marks over the lower front and reverse, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. Biryukov only appeared in a single match in the 2012 tournament, so the jersey may have been worn when he served as the back-up goalie on the bench. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
