Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

More first-rate hockey cards here, with the average grade looking to be NM. We do spot some EX-MT and EX-MT+ entries, but NM, NM+ and NM-MT-or-better look to dominate, with a couple of distinctive characteristics to point out. Some 1st Series examples measure "long", while blue-tinted edges (usually the right edge and bottom edge) show up on the vast majority of 2nd Series cards, the latter stacking nice and even. Most 2nd Series examples have a touched or very lightly dinged lower right corner. As for the keys, 24-Orr has a vertical printing line, most noticeable extending from the heel of the stick blade to the bottom edge, but is otherwise NM-MT. Other NM-MT notables are 31-Checklist, 70-Hull and Howe Mr. Hockey (no #). Otherwise NM-MT but with a diamond cut is checklist #132, while Esposito and Savard (OC) RCs and 209-Orr Norris are NM. A stamp affects the EX+ 61-Howe. Please see our website for more details and photos.
Not mentioned previously is the 212-Orr All-Star card; it has specs of blue ink transfer visible in Bobby's face and shoulder pads (o/w NM). The Phil Esposito #214 trophy winner card (NM+) is the version without "205" on the front. The first card, 1-Worsley, and last card, 231-The Stanley Cup are EX-MT representatives, but between them are numerous interesting submission possibilities. These cards are in their original "thin" form, exhibiting minimal handling and wear and not having taken on any humidity that is responsible for expanding cards. Joining the Tony Esposito and Serge Savard cards in the RC category are 35 others, including the likes of Quinn, Tkaczuk, Dennis and Bryan Hextall, Pronovost, Libett, Ley and Nanne, as well as goalies Favell and Desjardins. Also to note is that the corrected Howe Mr. Hockey card (with "193") is not present.
