Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

An entrepreneurial hobbyist might be interested in this mega baseball card grab bag that spans decades, although condition is nowhere near high grade and the lineup is made up of mostly commons, semi-stars and minor stars. Much of the fun will be had sifting through two monster boxes. Each features over 2000 cards, with 1952 to ’67 Topps cards in one and ’68 to ’79 Topps and O-Pee-Chee in the other. One to four dozen of most ‘50s issues, with 300+ from ’59 and the ‘60s dominated by cards from ’62 (250+), ’66 (600+ with dupes and no high numbers), ’67 (200+) and ’68 (400+). Just an inkling of ‘60s OPC (‘69s are most plentiful – 100+), with ‘70s entries highlighted by some big names, both OPC and Topps. Material from the early-‘80s includes plenty of OPC, with more details on our website – we’re out of space here.
Topps and OPC cards from 1970 are mixed together and total 500+, with ’71 and ’72 OPCs numbering approximately 150 each. Well over (400) ’75 OPCs are in better shape (mostly EX to EX-MT) and include Ryan but no Brett or Yount RCs. Two dozen graded ’74 Topps cards include 20 at NM 7, although no notables are present. Close to 100 Crane and other discs from the ‘70s include numerous stars, with a banker’s box full of loose 9-pocket pages possibly yielding a few pleasant surprises from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. Hundreds of 1980 and ’81 OPC cards are crease-free and ready to sift through, with lesser later material also included. Again, mostly off-condition cards up until the mid-‘70s, but with some odd intermittent EX-MT-and-better cards to be discovered. The new owner will be kept busy for quite some time!
