An absolutely wonderful cache of important items all pertaining to one of Canada’s historic World Championship hockey clubs, we have a collection of Whitby Dunlops items totaling approx 24, with desirable programs, photos, signatures, a felt crest and more. First, we have 8 programs, including 4 from games during their European trip to claim the World Championship in 1958, a pair of team photos, 4 different team-signed items, a Dunlops/Soviet ticket stub from March 8, 1958, a second ticket stub from a match against the Soviet Selects on Nov 22, 1957, a players invite to a European event during the 1958 World Championships, Harry Sinden and Bob Attersley signed photo cards, the aforementioned Dunlops felt crest and more!
The programs include European matches against the Brighton Tigers (Feb 6, 1958), Harrington Racers (Feb 5, 1958) and Paisley Pirates (March 19, 1958). There is also a 1958 World Championship program (in Norweigian), a 20th anniversary program from 1978 and a couple others including a pair signed on the cover by Attersley. The team signed items include a program to honour the 1957 Allan Cup-winning Dunlops signed by 6 including Attersley, along with Bob Henderson, Alex Air and 3 others, a team signed sheet (6” x 11”) signed by 18 including Sinden, Smith, Gagnon, Burns, Gosselin, Edwards, Bonello and others and a pair of team signed piece cut from a Dunlops broadside, signed during a 1983 reunion, with one signed by 24 including Attersley, Gagnon, Burns, O’Connor, Myles, Bonello, Treen, Williams, Henderson and others, with the second signed by 20 including Sinden, Attersley, Gagnon, Burns, O’Connor, Smith, Redmond and others. Rounding out the lot, we have a “Bon Voyage” menu for the departure of the Dunlops from Sweden in 1958, a 1958 Dunlops “World Champions” envelope and more!
