Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Celebrating the work of Steven Houston and Walter Burden and featuring seven notable members of the Hockey Hall of Fame, we have a collection of four signed lithographs. All diminutive in size and depicting youthful pond hockey (one feature’s NHL goalies), the first is a 2001 litho by Steven Houston entitled “When We Were Six” (10” x 11 ½”), with Johnny Bower, Bobby Hull, Gerry Cheevers and Jean Ratelle all signing beneath in pencil. The remaining three lithos are all done by Walter Burden, with the first entitled “Legends of the Crease” (9” x 11”), with Bower, along with Glenn Hall, Gerry Cheevers and Gump Worsley all signing in blue marker. The second is entitled “Saturday Morning” (7 ¾” x 9 ½”), with pencil signatures from Yvan Cournoyer and Guy Lafleur, while the third is “Saturday’s Heros” (8” x 8 ½”), with pencil signatures from Bower and Jean Beliveau. Each litho shows just light handling wear, with no issues for any of the signatures.
