Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The Hockey Diversified Goal Puck Program offered pucks used in NHL games during 1972-73 and 1973-74, with these acquired by mail. Originating from the remaining pucks, this particular example was used by HOFer Dave Keon to score the Toronto Maple Leafs 201st goal of the season vs the North Stars, on March 10th, 1973. Assisted by Jim McKenny, it was the Quebec native’s 30th goal of the season, and 317th of his noteworthy 396 career goals. Keon would also assist on Norm Ullman’s first period marker along with Darryl Sittler, with the Leafs slipping past the Stars 4-3 for a late season victory. Regarding condition, the Leafs logo exhibits a few minor indentations but displays beautifully, with some light discolouration to the Goal Puck Program label. There is also a minor cut along the side, with a second example near the bottom of the Leafs logo.
