Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Wearing their boastful “globe” wool sweaters as current world champions, we have a scarce original photograph that captures the 1924-25 Montreal Canadiens. With an exposed image area of approx 11” x 18”, team members are lined up including Hall of Fame inductees Howie Morenz, Aurel Joliat, Georges Vezina and Sprague Cleghorn, with Leo Dandurand and Sylvio Mantha matted-out over each side. Four players also have their name written beneath the image including Morenz and Vezina, with a couple large creases over the upper left that have broken the surface, with just Billy Boucher’s image affected. Framed to full dimensions of approx 20 ½” x 26 ½”, this rare photo featuring one of the Habs' most iconic line-ups will serve as the centerpiece within any iconic Canadiens team photo or HOF collection.
We should also note moderate to heavier wear to the frame, including numerous scratches.
