Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
All sorts of vintage goodies to tell you about here, perfect for those who like to sift and sort and price and re-sell! Bee Hive photos are a mix of mostly Group 1 and II examples and total 55, with approximately half low grade but with decent pictures of half a dozen Hall of Fame goalies. A small stack of photos removed from backings are rough throw-ins. Coca-Cola cards from 1965-66 include 68 different and 28 duplicates, with the big names not present and condition VG-EX or lower, with pencil prices (“1-“, “.50”) on the backs of over half. Over a dozen HOFers (Beliveau, Esposito, Richard, Perreault) are included in a starter set (106/144) of ’70-71 Dad’s Cookies cards, but not Orr or Howe, with condition generally EX-or-better with intermittent toning observed. Over 150 extras include duplication and not many big names but with Perreault, Park and Mikita. Some value is in a near set of ’73-74 Quaker Oats WHA cards, with nine of ten panels, including the one featuring Bobby Hull, never having been removed from their original cellophane packaging, with some cracks/tears in some of them. WHA mini-posters from ’73-74 are still folded and total 35 with duplication. Lipton Soup cards from ’74-75 include a starter set (37/50) and 30 doubles but condition is rather rough – those ones were tough to neatly cut from the soup boxes(!), with however Orr and Dryden present and some with their borders completely trimmed-off. Stacks of O-Pee-Chee and Topps inserts from the ‘70s look to include at least six ’77-78 Topps (square corner) sets and well over 100 (round corner) singles with a mix of Topps and OPC. “Sportcaster” oversized cards include some four dozen hockey subjects (Orr, Hull, Beliveau), with two sealed packs of various sports seldom seen and intriguing. Some miscellaneous baseball items, (Isaly’s discs, Luke Appling autographed Hall of Fame yellow postcard, 1971 Topps Super card of Brooks Robinson) and still more miscellaneous stuff awaits an entrepreneurial hobbyist.
