This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
His third season tending the net of Eddie Shore’s Springfield AHL hockey team, the Indians would finish in third place at the conclusion of the season, with Don Simmons seeing action in 54 of the club’s 64 games. From later in the season, we have a mug that was presented to Simmons as the Schaefer player of the game, a victory at home vs Cleveland, on Feb 13, 1955. At 5 ½” in height and with a glass bottom, the silver handled mug has “D.S.” engraved, along with a pair of crossed hockey sticks, “Schaefer Award” and “2-13-55”. There is moderate wear throughout along with a few dark marks and scratches as well as staining to the bottom, with the handle heavily worn from use. From Don Simmons personal collection, an LOA from the Simmons family will accompany.
