Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Selected first overall by the New York Islanders at the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, netminder Rick DiPietro spent parts of ten seasons on Long Island, but due to injuries, was limited to just fifty games his last five seasons. We have a blocker (signed) and glove combo that was used by the Winthrop native in games or practices, circa-2004. Itech models in Islanders colours, an embroidered “DiPietro” leather patch has been affixed to each, with the original lacing present on both. Exhibiting heavy wear but no damage, puck marks litter the face of the blocker and pocket of the glove, with a pair of very small holes over the middle finger within the palm of the blocker. DiPietro has signed the blocker in blue marker, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat.
