Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Heavily adored by Toronto Maple Leafs supporters and remembered by fans at large for his historic 10-point night against the Boston Bruins in 1976, Darryl Sittler played in over 1000 NHL games, and finished his career with an impressive 1,121 regular-season points. We have a pair of sticks used by the Hall of Fame inductee. First, we have a signed Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model that saw action during his time with the Flyers in 1982-83, with “D Sittler 27” over the shaft and the original black tape over the blade and handle. A “17 Nov 1982” date stamp is visible along the underside, with the stick showing light use, with wear over the blade including a loose tape strand, and a few marks to the lower shaft. There is also some residue to note on the handle, with Sittler signing near the top of the shaft in black marker, adding a personalization along with “Best Always”. The second stick hails from the late-1990s and was used in an oldtimers capacity, with the KOHO Revolution model having “D Sittler" stamped over the lower top section, with the original black tape in place on the blade and white on the shaved handle. Light use is again exhibited, with wear to the taped section of blade along with a few marks over the handle.
