Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Finishing first in the American Division, the New York Rangers would advance to the Stanley Cup finals in 1932, losing to an especially strong talent-laden Toronto squad. The following season the Blueshirts would fare greater, this time defeating the Leafs to claim their second Cup in franchise history. We have a mini-stick team-signed by 17 members of the 1931-32 Rangers, including 6 deceased Hall of Fame members. At approx 9 ½” in total length, the diminutive and well carved stick feature's dark ink signatures on both sides, with “New York Rangers 1931-32” written on one side. Signers include Murdoch, Keeling, Boucher, Dillon, Gainor, Somers, Desjardins, Brennan, Milks and the Cook brothers on one side, and Seibert, Heller, Roach, Johnson, Bourgault, Murdoch (second signature) and Lester Patrick on the other. The signatures display beautifully and remain especially bold, with just a couple including the Johnson exhibiting bleeding.
