Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Reminiscent of and the same size as Parkhurst's landmark hockey card issue of 1951 are these much more scarce non-sport cards which feature characters from a variety of comics, accompanied by the little cardboard box/wrapper from which they presumably were pulled. Card appearances are pleasing, although a subtle small crease, or creasing, in each is detected upon close inspection. Light corner wear is similar to EX+ and EX-MT cards. Present are 23-Spray O'Hara, 37-Ella and 38-Ma & Pa Cinders, along with three miscut examples; 19-Becky & Slats, 28-"Hotshot" Charles and 35-Aces. Backs are blank. Fascinating is the cardboard container, retaining bold colors and informing that 39 cards comprise a full set. Corner/edge wear and edge splits (in the paper, not the cardboard), along with a small crease on a back flap are to mention but the crease-free front displays splendidly. Scarce Canadian collectibles will delight upon arrival!
