Lovers of Canadian non-sport wrapper and display boxes will love this fantastic find, with a Fido Bubble Gum display box and a 5-cent wrapper riveting indeed. The box originally housed 48 "packages" of five cards each. Various dogs were featured in the 42-card set, with card backs advertising Dr. Ballard's Pet Foods. The box here, measuring approximately 7-1/2" by 5-1/2" by 2-3/8", has "32 = $1.60" in pencil in the upper left corner of the lid, the front edge of which has quarter-inch and 3/4" tears at each end. When opened, as for in-store sales, tears in the right side are visible, with minor creasing/bends also to note, along with small spots of staining on the box bottom. The wrapper is neatly folded to its original state, with minor wear and a half-inch tear on the back. Swell accompaniments are card #s 1-Irish Terrier and 2-Boston Terrier in EX-MT condition. No similar examples are on the PSA Population Report and only 25 total Fido cards.
