Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A power forward with exceptional puck-handling abilities, Joe Thornton has completed 21 NHL seasons at the time of this writing, with six All-Star Game appearances made throughout his career, along with winning the Art Ross and Hart Memorial trophies – both in 2006. We have a signed stick used by the superstar during his time with Boston in the early-2000s. A CCM Heat graphite model, “Thornton” appears over the upper shaft, with “J. Thornton” also stamped along the stem of the inserted wooden blade. The original ribbed white tape job remains on the handle, with the blade later added at some point and bare, showing no game use. There is some wear and marks to the shaft, with additional wear over the taped handle. Thornton has signed across the blade in silver, with the especially large autograph displaying beautifully.
