This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
With each of his three seasons in Ontario especially successful, we have a Toronto Maple Leafs Maple Leaf Gardens 10K gold lifetime pass that was presented to Don Simmons during his first season with the Blue and White in 1961-62, where he would win his first of three consecutive Stanley Cup championships. At 1” in diameter and weighing approx 15 grams, a raised and detailed maple leaf sits over the obverse along with “Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club Stanley Cup Winners 1962”, while the reverse feature’s “Pass” above in larger letters, along with “Don Simmons” and “World’s Champion – To Maple Leaf Gardens Any Time”. A facsimile Conn Smythe signature sits beneath the text along with “Pres.”, with “Birks” and “10K” stamped along the edge. Accompanied by what appears to be the original Birks box, the pass shows just minimal handling wear, and displays brilliantly. An LOA from the Simmons family will accompany.
