Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
One of the more collected sets of the decade due to the inclusion of the highly desirable rookie card of Mario Lemieux, we have an unopened wax box of 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards, with this attractive specimen certified by BBCE. Issued in 7-card packs plus a sticker insert with a 48-pack count, 336 possibly high-grade cards await, including the aforementioned rookie of HOFer Mario Lemieux, along with examples for Wayne Gretzky, the rookie card of Al McInnis and a memorial card for Pelle Lindbergh. The original purchase price was .35 cents for each pack despite a reduced card-per-pack total from the previous season. Shrink-wrapped with BBCE’s sticker (A4787) and label affixed to the underside, the wax box exhibits just light handling wear over each of the four bottom corners, with a bit of smudging to the text on the reverse panel.
