Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
An important member of the pantheon of legendary Montreal Canadiens goaltenders along with Georges Vezina, Jacques Plante and Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy spent parts of a dozen seasons in a Habs sweater, with Stanley Cup championships won in 1986 and 1993. We have a trio of Roy items including a pair that are signed. First, we have a retirement banner (approx 18” x 41”), with this similar in appearance to the examples hung in the Bell Centre, with Patrick signing beneath his name in blue marker, with no issues for the signature and light wear to the vinyl banner. Next, we have a Montreal Forum limited-edition brick signed by the three-time Conn Smythe-winner. At roughly 4” x 8” and with expected excessive weight, the brick has a Forum pin attached along with the handwritten limited-edition number of “494/800” on the underside. Patrick has signed across the face in black marker, and the signature stands out well. An attractive display case is included, with a red and gold plaque listing the particulars including the limited-edition number. Lastly, we have a 12” Roy McFarlane Series One figure from 2003, accompanied by the original 9 ¾” x 8” x 14” box, with the figure appearing in beautiful condition and light to moderate wear to the box. The brick and banner will both be accompanied by COAs.
