Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A first-round draft selection in 1984, Shayne Corson would spend the majority of his career with Montreal - in two different stints - from 1985 to 1992, and again, from 1996 to 2000. From a prosperous season with the Habs in 1990-91 where he secured 15 post-season points in just 13 games, we have a Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Midland native. A Maska Ultrafil label with handwritten “54” sizing graces the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the iconic CH team crest constructed entirely of layered tackle twill, “27” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material along with the alternate’s “A”, with “Corson” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill.
Washed-out dark marks are visible over the lower front and sleeves, with some red paint transfer and possibly a faint blood stain near the left elbow. There is also some pilling from contact with the fight strap over the inner reverse hem.
