Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The witness to over half a century of Red Wings games along with the city’s earlier namesakes, the Detroit Olympia hosted its first contest in 1927 when the visiting Senators from Ottawa battled the Detroit Cougars. Once gracing the historic venue that fell to the wrecking ball over three decades ago, we have a desirable single red seat. At just under 34” in height, the solid red seating accommodation has been completely refurbished from top to bottom at some point, with a beautiful paint job along with new seat and back rest cushions and coverings. Gordie Howe’s iconic “9” has been added over the top center of the frame, with the seat displaying wonderfully, with just a bit of wear and dirt staining in areas, with a small tear to the seat covering.
