Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The record holder for the most goals in a season by a defencemen, Paul Coffey is second only to Ray Bourque for career goals, assists and points. From one of the NHL’s all-time greatest defenceman and gifted to one of equal stature in the iconic Bourque, we have a signed stick used by Coffey during his time with Carolina in the late-1990s. A Sher-Wood PMP7000 model with “Coffey 77” graphics over the upper shaft, “Handcrafted exclusively for Paul Coffey” appears along the underside, with the stick retaining the original black tape over the handle. “Carolina” is also visible, stamped on the lower shaft, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large black marker signature from Coffey, with a second signature also gracing the blade. The stick shows light use, with the blade clean and some rubbing to the edges and surface of the shaft. Hailing from the personal collection of Ray Bourque, this stick will be accompanied by his signed LOA. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
