Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A 19-season NHL veteran, Adam Oates is considered one of the game’s greatest playmakers, with his 1,079 career points placing him seventh all-time. We have a stick used by the 2012 HOF inductee during his time with the Capitals in the late-1990s. A Sher-Wood PMP9950 model with “Adam Oates 77” graphics over the upper shaft, “Handcrafted exclusively for Adam Oates” appears along the underside, with the stick retaining the original black tape over blade and white over the handle. “77” has also been written over the knob, with “3” along the base and “2” over the lower shaft. The blade has been customized with the tip cut away, and then covered in tape. The stick shows light use, with a bit of wear to the blade and some surface marks to the fiberglass over the heel section. Hailing from the personal collection of Ray Bourque, this stick will be accompanied by his signed LOA. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
