Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The longest serving New York Islanders captain in franchise history, Denis Potvin was widely regarded as one of the best defenceman in the NHL during his tenure, with three James Norris trophies won along with being the first defenceman to score 1,000 career points. We have a stick used by the four-time Stanley Cup champion circa 1987-88. A Titan TPM2020 model with “D. Potvin” stamped over the upper shaft, additional factory codes of “1-003” and “048813” are also visible on the underside of the heel and lower shaft respectively. Retaining the original black tape on the blade and white over the handle/knob, the stick shows light to moderate use, with wear to the underside of the blade and marks to the lower shaft. Hailing from the personal collection of Ray Bourque, this stick will be accompanied by his signed LOA. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
