Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Serving as a qualifying tournament for the World Championship and the second and final time the event was held, the 1996 Women's Pacific Rim Hockey Championship featured Canada, the United States, China and Japan, with the Americans finishing in second place behind the Canadians. We have a silver medal from the event. At 2 ¾” in diameter, “Pacific Championship” appears in raised letters encompassing a pair of players with “Women” below is featured on the obverse, with a red and blue globe with crossed hockey sticks on the reverse, encompassed by “International Ice Hockey Federation”. The above linkage has “1996”, with the original blue and yellow ribbon intact. Exhibiting just a tiny spot of surface loss on the obverse and additional wear to the side and on edges, the medal displays beautifully, with some discolouration on the reverse of the linkage, with this not diminishing the display value whatsoever. An LOA will accompany.
