Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Regularly facing each other as part of the heated Montreal vs Toronto rivalry, Jean Beliveau and Johnny Bower battled for over a dozen NHL seasons, with each regarded as an integral HOF member from the Original Six era. We have a trio of signed photos featuring the pair. First, we have a large 16” x 20” colour image that pictures the duo along with Tim Horton in game action, with each signing near their respective image in blue marker, with both adding their HOF induction year. Next, we have a pair of individually signed 11” x 14” photos, with one picturing Bower alert in his crease with George Armstrong roaming in the background, with Bower signing in blue sharpie and again adding his HOF year, along with “China Wall”, while the final photo is a black and white image of Beliveau on-ice in his Habs sweater, with the icon signing in black ink with “Le Gros Bill”, adding “10 Stanley Cups – 1957-57-58-59-60-65-66-68-69-71” over the bottom left. This final photo is numbered “18/50”, with the signatures on all three images displaying beautifully and just minimal wear to the photos themselves including surface indentations and a slight bend to the 16” x 20” image – with this photo also having a hologram affixed and a matching COA to accompany.
