Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Four individuals that each made an impression on the game warranting immortal status as inductees to the Hockey Hall of Fame, we have a highly desirable group of attractive signatures from three legendary players in Ching Johnson (D-1979), Syd Howe (D-1976) and Roy Conacher (D-1984), along with important builder and Detroit Red Wings owner, Bruce Norris (D-1986). Each specimen is in the sought form of an index card, with each encapsulated and graded ‘Authentic Auto’ by PSA/DNA. We cannot stress enough how difficult high quality signatures from earlier HOF members are to locate, with each of these examples a prize singularly. The Howe and Conacher are both nice blue ballpoint signatures (Howe has added “Redwings” beneath), while the Johnson and Norris are both in bold blue marker – with the Johnson an especially large example.
Each signature displays beautifully with no issues, with the just the lightest amount of toning to the index cards. “1986 D” has been lightly written in pencil over the reverse of the Norris card, with the reverse of the Howe card lined. We should also note for complete accuracy, a tiny crease within the top center of the Conacher card, with this doing absolutely nothing to diminish the display value of the card and signature.
